Join Cenovus Energy as a Downstream Instrumentation subject matter expert, recognized authority in one or more specialized areas (e.g., FCCU, Hydrocracking, Hydrotreating, Alkylation, Catalytic Reforming, Separations/Distillation, Coking/Thermal Conversion, Utilities, Sulfur Recovery and Treating, Wastewater). You will provide technical leadership to ensure process safety, reliability, and performance. Your expertise supports sustainable, cost-effective solutions, helping reduce operational risks and drive up to $50M/year in value through improved efficiency and compliance. As the SME, you will provide expert guidance in instrumentation and safety systems. Preference to individuals who currently reside or can relocate to Dublin, OH, or any of the US Cenovus Refineries. (Lima, OH; Toledo, OH; Superior, WI)

What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement a technology plan for instrumentation and safety systems.
- Provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
- Lead the Community of Practice to improve knowledge and implementation of engineering standards.
- Coach and mentor technical resources in troubleshooting and standardizing practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- 20 years of downstream unit operations and technical experience.
- 5 years of relatable advanced experience
- Proven track record of technical excellence in instrumentation and safety systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on developing technical teams.
