Join Cenovus Energy as a Downstream Process Technology Corrosion Engineering subject matter expert serving as a technical authority in one or more refining technologies (e.g., FCCU, Hydrocracking, Hydrotreating). In this role, you will drive process safety, reliability, and performance, delivering cost-effective solutions and up to $50M in annual value through risk reduction and operational optimization. You will lead corrosion management across Downstream operations, developing asset strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant performance. You will operate as the company’s expert on corrosion and related damage mechanisms. Preference to individuals who currently reside or can relocate to Dublin, OH, or any of the US Cenovus Refineries. (Lima, OH; Toledo, OH; Superior, WI)

What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain corporate-level corrosion engineering policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standard methodologies.
- Lead initiatives for improved equipment inspection, failure analysis, and fitness-for-service evaluations, ensuring corrosion mechanisms are accurately accounted for.
- Build and coordinate corrosion control documents, developing programs to minimize process and environmental corrosion of refinery assets.
- Establish and manage integrity operating limits for refining equipment, supporting mechanical integrity and inspection efforts.
- Mentor and train corrosion engineers and mechanical integrity managers on technical training programs and proficiency requirements.
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Professional Certification or License in Certifications such as NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers)
- Extensive experience in corrosion engineering, including cathodic protection, coatings, and inhibitors
- 20 years of downstream unit operations and technical experience
- 5 years of experience in the specific area of expertise
