Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated and versatile Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on managing the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate and timely handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks, and a keen attention to detail. Effective coordination with other team members is essential for success in this position.
Position Responsibilities:
- Order Picking/Packing: Accurately select and verify items based on customer orders and securely pack and label items for shipment.
- Putaway: Use warehouse machinery and equipment to put away inbound shipments received into their designated zone/bin.
- Shipment and Freight Preparation: Organize and prepare orders for shipment according to specific requirements, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and best practices during shipping and receiving processes to ensure a safe working environment.
- Receipt Inspection: Check incoming shipments for damage and accuracy; verify contents against purchase orders.
- Coordination: Communicate with the Shipping/Receiving Specialist and Warehouse Manager and/or other team members to coordinate to ensure shipments are sent properly and efficiently and/or to resolve any discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage of received goods.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; previous experience in warehouse/logistics preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and basic math skills for measuring and counting inventory.
- Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective communication, and teamwork abilities to manage multiple tasks.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects and stand or move for extended periods.
- Safety and Problem-Solving: Understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse setting and the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues; forklift certification may be preferred.
