The HR Director will provide professional-level planning, reporting and analysis to support the goals and objectives of the organization; resolves conflicts to protect the organization’s assets; provides expertise and recommendations to support management decisions. Ensures HR activities compliant with State and Federal laws, licensing and accreditation bodies, and facility contracts. The HRD will also oversee all HR functions including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training/orientation, employee relations, workers’ compensation and maintaining all personnel records in files and the HRIS system. The Human Resources Director provides support to department heads and supervisor as well as acts in a consulting role to other regional human resources departments.
Job Duties:
- Maintains employee records in compliance with Federal and State regulations, and hospital policy.
- Coordinates new hires, consultants and temporary employee process.
- Maintains current and former staff files; maintains Position Control document and other spreadsheets as well as data entry into the HRIS.
- Ensures current status of all personnel files.
- Works with the Corporate Benefits Department in regards to any hospital or employee enrollment and inquiries regarding benefits.
- Acts as a liaison with insurance and third-party carriers related to specific employee concerns or benefit programs.
- Interprets and maintains all paid time-off benefits including PTO, ELB, holiday, bereavement, and jury duty time off plans.
- Assists in the administration of the hospital’s Leave of Absence program.
- Assists in the administration of the unemployment program. Answers claims inquiries and represent hospital as requested.
- Establishes efficient systems for the Human Resources Office.
- Collaborates with all hospital personnel to promote a positive working environment in department and hospital.
- Collaborates with hospital personnel and medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Promotes safety by attending mandatory in-service training and complies with all safety policies.
- Assumes and/or performs additional duties as requested.

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Three years management experience required, and five years of healthcare experience preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and an understanding of Federal and State employment laws and regulations related to HR. Working knowledge of administering wage/salary programs, benefits, workers compensation, recruiting/retention plans, training/staff development, and employee relations. Requires leadership, organizational, supervisory and administrative abilities including excellent computer skills and knowledge of various software, internet-based HR systems and email.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) standards is highly preferred.
