To be successful in this role you will:
- Meet with builders, developers, and customers, or their representatives to coordinate actions required to provide gas service.
- Represent the company in negotiations related to service extension issues, customer billing, and account and deposit requirements. Resolves customer concerns and handles all responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Determines customer gas loads and metering requirements. Prepares construction sketches, layouts and drawings of existing and proposed distribution facilities and coordinates activities with other personnel from Engineering & Operations.
- Prepares financial analysis to evaluate the feasibility and cost for adding customers
- Coordinates and prepares customer proposals such as Pre-Development Contracts and correspondence and invoices for Contribution in Aid of Construction
- Prepare work orders, either on Customer Information System or SAP.
- Prepare estimates of cost for material and labor to complete projects with commercial and residential development customers; coordinates work orders and estimates of cost.
- Verifies equipment type, size, and location; review facilities for compliance with the city and county ordinances and Company standards; stakes the location of proposed facilities for construction forces where appropriate.
- Support project construction through regular communication with customer, construction forces, other utility (phone, electric, water) personnel, governmental entities and others. Monitors construction progress and serves as liaison between customer and Houston Gas departments to ensure timely completion of work.
- Initiate and develop opportunities for gas sales, or provide leads for successful market-driven activities to educate and promote the use of appropriate gas end-use technologies to targeted customers.
- Prepare client presentations and departmental reports accessing computer systems
- Support community and civic organizations through active participation, project coordination and fund-raising events. Develop relationship with community and civic leaders so that Houston Gas is regarded as a partner
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Your background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred. Area of concentration in construction science, construction management, engineering, or technology preferred.
- Requires two (2) years of applicable experience in construction management, engineering, or technology may be considered
Salary : $44,100 - $55,900
