Responsibilities

• Electrical design of single phase and three phase pole and pad mount distribution transformers per customer and industry specifications such as IEEE, ANSI, DOE and CSA.
• Preparing drawings, data schedules, nameplate details and bills of materials for customer approval and manufacturing release.
• Reviewing designs and winding specifications against established design rules and standards to ensure compliance.
• Performing fuse coordination when required.
• Recommending material substitutions as needed.
• Providing shop support to resolve issues that arise during manufacturing.
• Assisting QC in diagnosing reasons for electrical failures during ratio and dielectric testing when required.
• Assisting sales and marketing, as needed, with drawings and technical documentation required during sales and bidding
  
  

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree/2 Year technical
• Min 5-7 (with EE Degree) / Min 7-10 (with tech. degree) experience in designing electrical transformers required
• Equipment knowledge: Single and three phase pole-mount and pad mount distribution transformers 167kVA and above required
• Transformer coil design and protection for MV and LV applications
• Basic electrical testing of transformer coils and assemblies
• 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidEdge
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. INFOR) preferred
