Description:
The EL Summer Learning Coordinator serves as liaison between the summer learning site and the EL Office, coordinating as needed with on-site building administration, nursing, food services, and transportation department staff, and serve as instructional leaders, conducting walk-through observations to assist teachers in adapting instruction and ensuring implementation of the EL summer learning curricula. The coordinators arrange for delivery and return of instructional materials, supervise bus arrivals and departures, supervise meal periods, ensure that parents are notified of student absences, resolve scheduling issues, and address student and teacher concerns.
The Coordinator also assist in planning logistics prior to Summer Learning, including collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement a plan aimed at facilitating the registration and full integration of English Learner (EL) students into Summer learning programs, organization of EL Summer Learning instructional materials at the warehouse, planning class and teacher rosters, and participating in professional learning for Summer Learning.
Three (3) positions available.
Qualifications:
ACPS licensed employee with strong organizational and leadership skills, language and/or math instructional training, experience with strategies to promote language acquisition, and successful experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
