Position Overview
The HR Manager at Centrex is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and operational goals. This role will oversee all HR functions, including payroll processing, HRIS (CentrallyHR) administration, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and compliance and report directly to the Chief Finance Officer. The HR Manager plays a critical role in reinforcing company culture, aligning people strategy with EOS, and supporting Centrex’s ongoing growth.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in Tigard, OR, with a salary of $85,000-$105,000 based on experience and qualifications and working hours of 7am-4pm PST Monday through Friday. Some travel will be required to visit job sites and check in with teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culture & Core Values Champion
- Act as a key steward of Centrex’s core values in daily operations and long-term strategy.
- Promote a positive, high-performance work environment aligned with EOS principles.
- Payroll & HRIS Management
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring proper reporting and compliance.
- Maintain and optimize CentrallyHR, our HRIS platform, including employee records, benefits, and system integrity.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to attract and retain top talent.
- Design and deliver onboarding experiences that reflect our culture and ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
- Employee Engagement & Development
- Lead efforts to improve engagement, satisfaction, and retention across teams.
- Identify learning and development opportunities to foster growth and leadership from within.
- HR Compliance, Policy Development & Administration
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Create, maintain, and enforce HR policies, employee handbook updates, and workplace standards in accordance with company values and employment law.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate HR documentation and employee files.
- Performance Management
- Manage performance review processes and goal-setting systems.
- Coach managers through employee relations and performance improvement conversations.
- Strategic HR Partnership
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with company goals and EOS.
- Support change management and organizational development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (HR certification a plus).
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, including payroll and HRIS management (experience with CentrallyHR is a strong plus).
- Knowledge of employment laws, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to build trust and rapport across all levels of the organization.
- Proactive, self-reliant, and an effective decision-maker with excellent time management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
