Shift Details
- Schedule: Rotating Day/Night shifts.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
- Provide direct patient care by taking your own assignments on medical-surgical floors and other acute care units.
- Deliver care aligned with the hospital's protocols, including medication administration, wound care, monitoring patient conditions, and documenting in the patient’s record.
- Float to various departments as needed. If floated to ICU or ER, responsibilities will involve assisting MS-level patients or serving as helping hands.
- Communicate effectively with RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
Required Education and Licensure:
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care hospital experience.
- Strong critical thinking and time management skills to manage multiple patients effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and a diverse patient population.
- Professionalism and a team-oriented mindset.
- Exposure to a large, tertiary care hospital environment.
- Supportive culture for LPNs transitioning to RN roles.
- Gain hands-on experience in a variety of units, including ICU and ER settings.
- Floating Requirement: Floating is expected based on patient and staffing needs.
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting in March
- Patient Care Load: LPNs must be comfortable and competent in managing their own patient assignments.
