Overview
This is a full-time on-site role for a small construction business as their sole bookeeper. Responsibilies will include managing financial statements, finance activities, bookkeeping tasks, tax prepatrations, licensing responsibilties, payroll preparation for ousourcing company and general accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of tax documents and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Utilize financial software (Sage 50 Accounting) to track expenses, generate reports, and analyze financial data.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting principles including debits, credits, and GAAP standards.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts related to bookkeeping and accounting.
- Experience with technical accounting tasks such as journal entries and bank reconciliations.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Ability to effectively use financial software for bookkeeping tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
