Job Summary
The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in the initial assessment and support of clients seeking services. This position involves gathering essential information, evaluating client needs, and facilitating access to appropriate resources. The Intake Specialist will work closely with clients to ensure a smooth intake process while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties
- Conduct initial assessments and interviews with clients to gather relevant information.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files, ensuring all data is entered promptly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized service plans.
- Provide support in behavior management and conflict resolution during intake sessions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to facilitate service access.
- Supervise intake processes, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist in addiction counseling and provide referrals as necessary.
- Document all interactions and maintain compliance with confidentiality standards.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
- Proficiency in data entry and file management to maintain organized records.
- Experience in supervising staff or volunteers within a social work or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support clients effectively.
- Ability to manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles is a plus.
- Background in social work or related fields is highly desirable.
- First aid certification is beneficial for ensuring client safety during sessions.
