The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with experience supporting large technical initiatives. In this role, they will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. They will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their requirements, map business processes, create comprehensive technical documentation, and identify the data utilized within our systems. They will use their analytical skills and ability to translate complex information into actionable insights will be crucial to our success. The Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, application owners, developers, and IT support teams, to document requirements, business processes, and project milestones.
The Business Analyst will create and maintain detailed documentation for project requirements, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories. Document workflows, data flows, architecture, ETL processes, data dictionaries, reporting solutions and system processes to provide a clear understanding of business requirements and system functionality. Document and organize requirements in a structured manner, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Conduct requirement validation sessions with stakeholders to confirm understanding and agreement on deliverables. Assist in defining the business problem and the business solution in line with appropriate best practice, governance standards and methodologies. And develop and execute test cases to validate that system changes meet the specified requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Identify and document the data elements used within various systems, including data sources, data formats, and data relationships. Work with technical teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Elicit, analyze, and document current and future state business processes using various modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN, wireframes, flowcharts) and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation such as Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), System Requirements Specifications (SRS), Use Cases, User Stories, Data Dictionaries, Process Flows, and Training Materials.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and document review. Prioritize requirements and ensure they align with business objectives.
- Responsible for the creation of comprehensive project, change, and risk management plans encompassing both IT and business deliverables (scope and schedule) and communication throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study; or any combination of relevant background, skills and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- At least 8 years of demonstrated expertise in feasibility analysis, business process modeling, functional and non-functional requirement engineering, solution development, and supporting QA as part of end- to-end project
- Creating 'As Is' and 'To Be' process maps and converting business and technical requirements into consumable epics, features and user stories with corresponding acceptance criteria. Practical experience in collecting and cleaning data, building models, creating visualizations and reports, and present findings to stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and planning skills. Able to multi-task, work independently and balance requests at peak workloads (or change gears quickly based on priorities) from various departments and upper management.
- General knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components, SharePoint sites, and networks. Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Teams and MS Project. Experience working with Azure DevOps and/or alternative software development and testing tracking systems.
- SQL/PLSQL querying, data wrangling, statistical analysis and modeling (e.g. R, Python), data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), business intelligence concepts, communication and storytelling
The pay for this role is $70 an hour.
