As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role by ensuring that all components are available for production and that products are created and delivered on time. Position Overview
Developing and Managing Production Schedules:
- Create and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels in order to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity.
- Coordinate with production, sales, and purchasing teams to develop and adjust schedules to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery to the customer.
Analyzing Production Specifications:
- Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the production process, make routine production reports, and resolve any potential delays.
- Update production schedules to include changes, availability of raw materials, and capacity constraints.
Resource Management:
- Ensure that all necessary resources (labor, materials, machinery) are available for the production process.
- Assess and identify any issues that might impact the production schedule and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Communication and Optimization:
- Communicate with management and other stakeholders about the status of production schedules and any potential issues that may arise.
- Optimize production operations for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
Total Compensation Package:
- Wage - This role is based in the State of New York which requires the disclosure of salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 per year. C.H. Thompson provides salary ranges as a good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Compensation offered to a selected candidate may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) a candidate's job-related qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
