Charles Hughes Ltd, the exclusive Irish distributor of Portwest – a global leader in outdoor clothing, workwear, safety footwear, and PPE – is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to support and grow our customer base in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties.

In Ireland, Charles Hughes Ltd services over 1,000 customers and employs a team of 100 professionals dedicated to providing exceptional customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing key accounts in the region
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Achieve agreed sales targets and budgets
- Conduct cold calling and lead generation activities
- Prepare and submit quotations and tenders
- Deliver professional presentations to clients
- Provide effective follow-up to progress and close sales
- Maintain and update the company’s CRM system
- Perform other duties in line with business needs
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a busy sales or business development role
- Experience selling to sectors such as manufacturing, pharma, construction, etc. is a plus
- Previous experience with workwear, PPE, or safety products is preferred
- Highly motivated and target-driven with a passion for sales
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility in working hours and territory travel
