Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development will play a key role in securing funding and diversifying revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Programs teams to identify new funding opportunities and develop high-quality concept notes, proposals, and reports for public and private institutional donors.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Technical Leads, MEAL, Individual Giving, and other colleagues to maintain and improve internal processes for grant management.
- Meet with private institutional donors including foundations, corporations, Jewish organizations, and government agencies.
- Conduct research to cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, and other major funding prospects to broaden HIAS' networks and match donor interests with HIAS' program areas.
- Develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and other materials for institutional funders, working closely with the programs and finance teams on project design.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising (can include internships and volunteer experiences).
- A proven track record in Business Development and fundraising, especially with foundations.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills; strong verbal communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently with remote management, highly self-motivated and must demonstrate a collaborative work style.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
