As part of Chase Oaks Church, Local Good Resale provides quality home goods to the community while generating volunteer opportunities and funds to support the impactful work of Local Good Collective.
The Store Manager will lead the launch and operation of Local Good Resale, a nonprofit store where proceeds support the programs and services of the Local Good Collective. This position is responsible for creating a retail environment that generates revenue, aligns with the organization’s mission, and provides a positive experience for customers, staff, and volunteers. This is a full-time and exempt salaried position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Store Operations and Management
- Design and execute comprehensive processes and procedures to manage all aspects of resale store operations, including store operational hours, donation intake, processing, pricing, sales, and other key functions
- Maintain and manage the store’s Point-of-Sale system (Square), including data entry, inventory control, and generating reports
- Hire, recruit, train, and mentor staff and volunteers to support the effective operation of the store
- Supervise the opening and closing of the store and oversee all register operations
- Ensure the store and volunteer lounge are clean, organized, and free of safety issues
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports, ensuring transparency and accuracy
- Continuously evaluate, enhance, and implement safety protocols
Staff and Volunteer Supervision
- The Store Manager will supervise and train the Local Good Store Associate and a robust, rotating volunteer pool to meet various store support needs
- Create and conduct training for staff and volunteers on store policies, procedures, and the mission of both the Local Good Resale and the Local Good Collective
- Organize and lead monthly staff meetings to foster communication and collaboration
- Perform annual performance evaluations for all subordinate staff and key volunteers
- Manage a robust workforce of volunteers to support daily store operations
Strategic Planning and Marketing
- Develop and post content for social media channels
- Work with the Executive Director of Local Good and store staff to set sales goals and determine sales strategies
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Local Good to plan events designed to attract a diverse customer base and new community partnerships
- Represent Local Good Resale at community outreach events to promote the store and its mission
Organizational Coordination
- Address and resolve operational challenges effectively and constructively
- Attend monthly staff meetings and leadership development trainings

EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and volunteers effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Point-of-Sale systems
- Square point-of-sale experience is a plus
EDUCATION DESIRED
- High School diploma or GED required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
- Strong knowledge of POS systems
- Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Data Entry and database experience
