Plastic Surgery Nurse

We are a high profile AAAASF accredited Plastic Surgery Ambulatory Center located in the heart of Atlanta. Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced Nurse to our growing surgical team! Outstanding patient care is very important to our ideal candidate. We are looking for someone who has 1 year of Operating Room, Critical Care, Labor and Delivery or previous Outpatient Surgery experience preferred. You will have a high level of attention to detail, excellent at multi-tasking, problem solver mindset and be someone who is energetic and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Guiding the patient through their surgical experience by offering education, kindness, and support from start to finish (preoperative/intraoperative/postoperative phase)
• Excellent clinical skillset with monitoring vital signs, IV placement, administration and understanding of medications, and recognizing and responding to medical emergencies.
• Assess the patient’s condition before a surgical procedure.
• Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Help to maintain records for accreditation and assist with preparation for inspections as needed.
• Maintain patient charting, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
• Be the final check for all pre-operative and consent paperwork ensuring that all information is correct and present.
• Checks stock supply and reports low inventory to Material Manager.
• Always be a patient advocate and ensure continual focus on risk minimization as it relates to safety within the facility.
• A champion for safety with an understanding of correct emergency procedures including completing daily crash cart checks.
• Ensure that Universal Precautions are maintained
• Ensures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient.
• Works side by side with surgical techs to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room.
• Prepares the patient for the procedure and handle the preparation for the operating room before the surgery takes place.
• Must have a strong attention to detail and physical stamina to handle long work hours.
• Assisting with Administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a valid GA Registered Nurse License
• ACLS and BLS (required)
• Experience in Plastics preferred (will train the right candidate)
• Experience in an Outpatient Surgery Center
• Experience in OR/ICU/Critical Care/L&D preferred
• Proven nursing experience
• Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
• Compassionate with good communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
