Do you have at least one (1) year of administrative assistant, clerical assistant, or related experience? Join our team of professionals as an Administrative Assistant I at Chatham County, GA Government.
Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, you
- Perform various technical, clerical, and routine administrative work.
- Use your attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as you prepare correspondence, reports, lists, and other documents.
- Interpret and apply departmental or office rules, policies, and regulations in accordance with prescribed procedures and guidelines.
- Use your communication and customer service skills as you answer the telephone and receive and greet visitors.
- Perform work that requires initiative, independent judgment, and discretion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least one (1) year of administrative assistant, clerical, or related experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Selected candidates will be required to complete typing and clerical testing during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Excel is highly preferred.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
