Join the Chatham County Magistrate Court as a Deputy Court Clerk II. Put your years of clerical or court-related experience to work for a great new career with Team Chatham.
Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, you will
- Perform administrative and quasi-legal work relating to the Court's operation.
- Assist the Deputy Court Administrators with both civil and criminal processes.
- Maintain evidence records and help the public, court officials, attorneys, and other County employees by telephone, in person, or by writing.
- Utilize your communication and customer service skills to perform all duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Deputy Court Clerk I or in a similar court-related environment; or
- At least two (2) years of general clerical experience, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Selected candidates will take keyboarding and clerical testing as part of the final interview process.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
