Machine Operator

As a CPI Machine Operator you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world’s digital technology. Day to day, you will be responsible for setting up and operating standard machines in the sheet metal area. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates equipment including loading/unloading material.
- Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
- Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed.
- Requisitions material from warehouse, when necessary. Inspects material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects.
- Maintains machine and tooling clean and in good shape.
- Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Operates forklift, as related to loading/unloading material on equipment.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash, production scrap and material drop-off. Assists in cleaning common areas.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies:
- High school or equivalent education preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications. Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
- Capable of setting up machinery to engineering specifications.
- Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
- Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
- Capable of safely operating a fork truck.
- Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance and troubleshooting manuals.
- Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, and crouching
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
