Summary
As a School Program Staff member at Chautauqua Striders, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting our mission through educational and athletic initiatives. The shift for this position is typically Monday-Thursday between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Implement USATF Curriculum: Deliver the “Run, Jump, Throw” program, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and effectively.
- Activity Planning: Develop and organize additional relevant activities and drills that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and fun.
- Supervision: Oversee students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Instruction: Provide clear instructions and demonstrations for all activities, adapting to the varying skill levels of students.
- Encouragement: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging all students to participate and achieve their personal best.
- Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them improve.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and program updates.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all equipment is used properly and maintained in good condition.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
- Proficient in behavior management techniques to maintain an effective learning environment.
- Background in athletics, education or related fields is preferred.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus but not required.
- Experience in sports coaching or recreational activities is beneficial but not mandatory.
