Summary
As a Medical Receptionist and Assistant, you will be integral to the smooth operation of our daily activities, providing essential administrative support and ensuring excellent client service. Reporting to the Branch Manager, your core responsibilities will include managing medical records, data entry, front desk operations, preparation of medication injections, and preparation of necessary equipment and tools for each treatment. Your understanding of medical terminology will enhance patient interactions. Additionally, your strong communication and organizational skills will contribute to a welcoming environment, making you a vital part of our healthcare team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Must be 21 to apply
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls to appropriate individuals
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Check patients in and out, collect co-pays, and verify insurance information
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information and by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Assist with data entry tasks, including entering patient information into the computer system
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, as well as filing and organizing documents
- Provide general administrative support to the office staff
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Assist medical providers as needed to include medication preparation, documentation record keeping, and handling of necessary tools during treatments.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a front desk receptionist or medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in computerized systems, including data entry and using software such as Google Suite and Apple OS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Training
- 2 week orientation period (*must be capable of performing at or near full proficiency by end of 2 weeks)
