Job Description:
Cheeney Landscaping, Inc. is seeking an experienced Landscaping Equipment Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for operating a variety of landscape and construction equipment to assist in installing and maintaining outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate has experience with heavy machinery, attention to safety, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate machinery including skid steers, excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Transport and maneuver materials such as soil, mulch, rocks, and plants.
- Landscape Construction & Maintenance:
- Assist in grading, excavation, and land preparation for landscape installations.
- Install hardscape elements such as patios, retaining walls, and irrigation systems.
- Load and unload materials for job sites.
- Safety & Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to prevent accidents or equipment damage.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with landscaping crews to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist with general landscaping duties as needed when not operating equipment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating landscaping or construction equipment required.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of proper grading, excavation techniques, and landscape installation.
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow directions.
