CAS is currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Summary:
Work on a team of server administrators in maintaining and developing an Enterprise Compute Platform. The individual will need to have a wide range of knowledge of operating systems, automation tools, monitoring tools, and implementing the above tools into an Enterprise Compute environment.
Job Accountabilities:
- Perform administrator functions for Microsoft Windows Server, and VMWare platforms.
- Assists in installing operating systems and service packs, as well as security patches and bug fixes.
- Perform service management through the fulfillment of complex service requests.
- Perform problem management to minimize the adverse effect on the business of incidents caused by complex errors in the infrastructure. Proactively prevent the occurrence of incidents.
- Perform configuration management to provide a logical model of the IT infrastructure for all configuration items.
- Perform release management to ensure that all aspects of a release are considered.
- Perform availability management to optimize the capability of the IT infrastructure and supporting organization to deliver a cost effective and sustained level of availability that enables the business to satisfy its objectives.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled.
- Provide Production 24x7 coverage (when required) and support weekend implementations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, MIS or relevant majors.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience within Technology
- A strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion/aptitude for software and technology.
- Demonstrated curious and inquisitive learning mindset.
- Demonstrated intentional leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems and solutions in clear and simple terms.
- Desired Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, and VMWare.
- Desired Knowledge of Containerization and Virtualization Technologies.
- Desired knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure and Services AWS, Azure.
- Desired knowledge of various programming languages supporting technologies such as bash shell, python, java, PowerShell, etc.
- The ability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload is required.
- The ability to work as part of a group and individually.
- Must be willing to learn new technologies.
