What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Internet Sales Manager position at Cherner Brothers Auto Sales?
POSITION
As an Internet Sales Manager for our used car dealership, you'll play a crucial role in driving our online sales efforts and delivering exceptional customer service to our clients. You'll be responsible for managing incoming sales leads, following up with potential customers, and ensuring all online inquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, you'll assist with F&I functions as needed and provide general customer follow-up regarding their vehicles after the sale. With your strong communication skills and attention to detail, you'll help to build lasting relationships with our customers and contribute to the overall success of our dealership. If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity in sales with a supportive and close-knit team, we encourage you to apply for this exciting role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and respond to all online sales inquiries in a timely and professional manner; we do not have a dedicated BDC department - you are the star of the show and will take leads start to finish
- Answer customer calls and establish follow-ups with sales appointments
- Suggest and assist with development and implementation of online marketing strategies to generate leads and increase sales
- Suggest ways to optimize the dealership's website and other online platforms to maximize sales potential
- Continually analyze and report on the effectiveness of our online sales efforts
- Assist customers with financing and other sales-related inquiries as needed
- Sell extended service contracts, GAP products, and more to customers to maximize profitability on each deal
- Effectively collaborate with F&I Manager on pending credit applications to ensure prompt follow up and conversion from leads to sales
- Maintain positive working relationships with lenders and insurance companies
- Participate in team and process development sessions – keeping positive relationships with teammates and dealership management
- Manage all customer contact in the CRM (VinSolutions) with detailed notes to ensure information is clearly communicated with the rest of the team.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or ownership.
DAY IN THE LIFE AND EXPECTATIONS
We expect our sales team to show up on time, ready to work. We do not have sales reps under the managers, nor do we have a BDC department. As a small team dealership, we sometimes wear a few hats!
Walking in, you will do some administrative tasks in the CRM, reply to any customers that sent messages overnight, confirm appointments for the day, and get ready for our daily sales meeting at 9 AM. After our meeting you will get into your leads, contacting all new prospects through calling, texting, and email in our CRM. As customers come and go, you will start and end showroom visits with detailed notes for easy follow up and reference. You will setup customers on test drives, and join them when you feel it would help close the sale (we typically let them go off on their own). Sometimes the F&I Manager may be busy, so you might run your own credit applications and may even contract and write up the entire deal to include offering and selling any after market products. When you don't have customers in front of you, the expectation is that you are calling, texting, and emailing prospective customers to set appointments and get them in the door! We empower our team to take deals from the start across the finish line to ensure a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction.
Before leaving you need to ensure any payments are posted, showroom visits closed, car locations updated, ALL tasks are completed in the CRM, hang up any keys, etc.. If you finish early and find that you have some extra time, there are plenty of ways we can show you to find opportunities in the CRM or enhance other aspects of life at the dealership.
The ideal candidate for this role is highly self motivated, innovative, and a people person. You cannot be scared to pick up the phone and you will be making many calls a day. You should be excited about sales and the used car industry, and every lead should be viewed at as an opportunity. Technology should come second nature and you should be a leader that the team turns to with questions when anything arises. As you have ideas we encourage you to share them with upper management! A new social media campaign you want to try? Great! A new tool you want us to try to incorporate into the sales process? Amazing! Tell us about it.
QUALIFICATIONS
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for growth and advancement within the company. The salary range posted is a range based on your performance as there is a smaller base salary supplemented with a generous commission package. If you have a passion for sales, a track record of success in internet sales, and are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to apply for this exciting position.
