Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
- Handle medical collections and billing inquiries professionally.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar using kareo and tebra or similar systems.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health information management protocols.
- Assist with medical billing processes, including Medicare claims as necessary.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing patient questions and concerns effectively.
- Ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming at all times.
Skills
- Proficient in insurance verification processes and medical collections.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with orelectronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of health information management practices within a hospital or clinical environment.
