Job Description
Position: Career & Technology Education (CATE) Coordinator
Qualifications:
1. Master Degree from an accredited college or university
2. Valid Teaching Credential with the endorsement as a Secondary Administrator/Supervisor
3. Highly developed human relations and communication skills
4. Career & Technical Education experience preferred
Reports to: Career and Technology Education Director
Contract length: 235 days
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Provide information about post-secondary education and careers.
2. Collect, enter, organize and report student data dealing with CATE, work-based learning and the state report card.
3. Supervise administration of standardized tests, score reports and interpretation.
4. Coordinate CATE student grade reporting.
5. Recruit business for work-based learning opportunities and coordinate the recruitment and placement of students.
6. Develop and utilize marketing tools and materials in promoting Career and Technical Education and work-based learning opportunities.
7. Develop/revise forms and compile resources used in work-based learning.
8. Collect data from school level work-based contracts and compile reports.
9. Serve as a representative of the district work-based learning at various functions such as the consortium, civic organizations, staff development and seminars.
10. Disseminate and present work-based opportunities and requirements to school level work-based contacts for distribution to faculties and students.
11. Provide support to feeder middle and high school counselors with information as they assist students with Individual Graduation Plans (IGP).
12. Assist feeder schools, as needed, with career awareness opportunities and information.
13. Organize professional development for CATE
14. Plan and Coordinate CTE Events (Awards, Tours, Completer Ceremonies)
15. Attend IEP meetings and annual reviews as the Career Center Representative.
16. Coordinate CATE staff development that pertains to special populations.
17. Collaborate with CATE instructors to adapt programs for placements of special populations students.
18. Recommend CATE programs based on assessment information.
19. Provide support assistance for special populations students as defined by Perkins V.
20. Monitor CATE student progress by completing a comprehensive report quarterly.
21. Assist in CATE student reporting to the SC State Department of Education.
22. Coordinate CATE co-curricular clubs,
23. Assist in CATE student supervision.
24. Perform all duties as assigned by the CATE Director.
Salary: Administrative Salary Schedule 7A - $86,177 - $114,414
