What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Analyst - Network (Enterprise) position at Chesterfield County Public Schools?
Leads the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, to include LAN, WLAN, and VOIP technologies
Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support across on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and operation of network services.
Provides expertise in diagnosing user concerns, as well as complex hardware, software, and network issues
Works with other lead network analysts, and security teams to support a large enterprise network, including wired Ethernet, wireless technologies, switches, routers and firewall equipment
Works with information security personnel to make adjustments regarding best security practices and compliance with industry standards.
Provides monitoring for the network and makes recommendations for architecture, support, and upgrades, as appropriate, utilizing automation tools and network management software.
Researches and analyzes current and evolving communications capabilities to provide information for long- and short-term planning, including the evaluation of emerging technologies.
Assists with project planning and project management responsibilities, which may include establishing priorities, specifications and approaches, organizing, staffing and scheduling, working with others to complete the project, and monitoring progress.
Maintains and secures system and network performance by monitoring, providing performance tuning, implementing system controls, troubleshooting, performing corrective actions, and escalating problems to vendors.
Troubleshoots and maintains CIPA-compliant firewall
Maintains accountability of network assets by updating inventory management system, using asset management tools and ensuring asset security, in alignment with policies.
Assists with maintaining performance metrics by documenting network performance and tracking trends for actionable insights.

Equipment Operation:Utilizes a personal computer, general office equipment and equipment related to technology services i.e. desktop and laptop computers, digital signage kiosks, applications servers, laser printers, etc.
Contacts:Contact with all levels of staff to provide technical assistance. Coordinates with department staff to ensure efficient resolution of network and system concerns and meet the needs of district stakeholders.

Work Environment:The employee regularly works in an office or school-building environment. The noise level is quiet to moderate. Normal precautions of working around electronic equipment must be exercised at all times.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. In-depth working knowledge of multiple enterprise network architectures including TCP/IP. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve computer system issues. Working knowledge of Ethernet topology networks in switched and shared designs and of operating systems used in this environment, especially Microsoft Windows client and server systems. Expert skill in analyzing and resolving multiple subnet problems in a TCP/IP environment. Skill in installing hardware and firmware, conducting upgrades and performing other tasks to maintain a 16,000 node Cisco/Fortinet/Extreme Local Area Network/Wide Area Network. Expert skill in the design and implementation of networks. Self starter, ready to learn with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair applicable software, hardware and peripherals. Ability to work within and follow established guidelines and procedures and prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an effective manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate related field or a combination of education and extensive work experience comparable to a four year degree.
CCIE, CCNA or CCNP certification is strongly preferred. Google Professional Workspace Administrator Professional Certificate is preferred. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate is strongly preferred. At least two years of experience with network management systems strongly preferred. Valid VA Driver's License.
