Job Description: Systems Engineer Role Overview
Overview of the Role:
This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to report to our Mountain View Technical Center in Mountain View, CA or Milford Proving Ground in Milford, MI at least three times a week.
Responsibilities:
- Partition and allocate product, feature, and system functionality to implementation teams.
- Critical safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance factors are considered in system design to optimize performance, design, testability, and deployability.
- System engineers identify use cases, define functional technical requirements, enable robust implementation designs, and ensure built-in quality with test definition and traceability.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years engineering experience.
- Proven expertise as a Systems Engineer with at least 8 years in systems engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Strong knowledge of functional safety systems and regulations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and FMEA techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Tableau).
- Experience with hardware and embedded software integration in complex systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, controls, or related engineering fields.
- Certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
