What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Systems Engineer position at Clarios?
What you will do :
The Principal Systems engineer will be responsible for establishing systems engineering excellence for low voltage energy storage and conversion system products such as lithium-ion batteries. You will work across product engineering teams, ensuring proper execution of systems engineering activities from requirements development to integration and verification in platform and application engineering projects.
How you will do it :
- Coordinate systems engineering activities along the V-cycle between the systems, hardware, software, mechanical and electrochemistry engineering teams.
- Specifically align requirements engineering, systems architecture, verification and validation, modeling, and function development across domains.
- Define priorities and objectives of systems engineering activities in an environment of platform and multi-applications engineering projects.
- Report to the Director of Product Engineering and work with the managers of the engineering teams as peers.
- Contribute to the technology strategy and provide functional excellence in the field of safety critical low voltage energy storage and conversion systems to the team and adjacent engineering domains.
- Align the system engineering activities with the needs of the application engineering projects.
- Focus on design to cost, design to manufacture and time to market.
- Contribute to the definition and maintenance of a platform roadmap.
- Define and advance systems engineering processes, guidelines and tools.
