Chevy Chase Cabin Crew – Housekeeping Position – Part-time/Full-time

Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is a family-owned getaway (open year-round) with seven cabins on Discovery Bay in Port Townsend that has been welcoming guests since 1897.

We pride ourselves on the comfort and cleanliness of our cabins, our welcoming feel and the beauty of our surroundings (it is hard to beat working in this picturesque setting with the beautiful views of Discovery Bay, the eagles flying overhead and sometimes the rare spotting of orcas in the Bay).

As owners who are involved in the day-to-day operations, we know how hard our team works and there isn't anything we would ask our team to do that we wouldn't do or haven’t done ourselves. We are looking to add members to our team who take pride in their work and share our passion for providing a wonderful guest experience.

Are you detail oriented, reliable, positive and motivated? We appreciate this position is vital to the success of our small business and has the most direct impact on the quality of our guest's overall experience. Our high standards and consistency with our clean and well-appointed cabins is one of the top reasons that many guests come back year after year. This position is primarily responsible for continuing to maintain our high cleaning standards - cleaning the cabins and shared spaces, laundry, inventory, and other projects as needed.

This is a great opportunity to work in a small team, closely with the owners who lead by example to provide a positive work environment and comfortable setting for our guests.

In addition to the hourly wage, both part-time and full-time employees share tips, get PTO and are eligible for our unique performance bonus plan. Full time employees are also eligible for paid medical, dental and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain consistency with our housekeeping procedures to ensure quality cleaning standards and compliance

- Clean including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living room areas, etc.

- Maintain professional and welcoming attitude with team, guests and contractors

- Sort, stain treat, wash, fold and iron laundry

- Clean and restock baskets and caddies

- Maintain a clean and organized laundry room, storage and shared spaces

- Maintain and take care of housekeeping tools

- Check stock levels of cabin inventory items and replace as needed

- Troubleshoot problems, address minor issues and communicate larger maintenance and repair issues to the team

- Communicate with the team about the status of cabins, laundry and guest’s special requests or other issues

- Make recommendations to improve service and operational efficiency

- Support the rest of the team as needed

- Assist with groups and gatherings and other duties as assigned

Required:

- Consistently work scheduled shifts – we are a small team so dependability is critical

- Work most Fridays and Sundays and some Saturdays as needed (additional days available)

- Perform with efficiency and attention to detail, following protocols under time constraints with minimal supervision (after training period)

- Motivated and positive individual who can work independently (after training period) as well as part of a team

- Detail oriented

- Good organization skills

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest and business information

- Physical stamina and good mobility including the ability to lift and move 25 pounds and push/pull a heavy housekeeping cart across the property, move furniture as needed, scrub on hands and knees and maneuver in tight places to clean around and behind furniture

- Reliable transportation to/from work

- Cleaning experience preferred but not required

- Must pass background check

Hours:

- Typical hours are 10:00/10:30 – 4:00/4:30 (may adjust depending on schedule)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
