Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will support the President/CEO/CFO in overseeing the financial operations of the bank. Responsibilities include the management of accounting, financial reporting, budget, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and the overall financial health of the institution. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of banking regulations and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, regulatory reports, and management reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
- Manage financial controls, policies, and procedures to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations (e.g., FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve, and state banking authorities).
- Coordinate audits and examinations, acting as the primary point of contact for regulators and external auditors.
- Maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure operational integrity.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with recommendations.
- Forecast financial trends and assess the bank’s liquidity and capital requirements.
- Oversee cash management, investment activities, and liquidity management.
- Ensure proper management of loan loss reserves and capital adequacy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred), or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting (Call Reports, GAAP, and banking regulations).
- Proficiency in financial software, accounting systems, banking core systems, and Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
