Chicago Glaucoma Consultants is seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team in Glenview, Illinois. Become part of one of the most respected practices in the area. As an integral part of our eye care practice, you will play a key role in assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing high-quality patient care. Long term commitment is strongly preferred but we are also open to 1 year opportunities from qualified applicants. Responsibilities: Conduct preliminary eye examinations, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and basic refraction. Perform diagnostic tests, such as visual field testing and OCT. Administer eye medications as directed by the healthcare provider. Assist with minor surgical procedures and laser treatments. Document and maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Instruct patients on proper eye care and medication usage. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient flow.
Qualifications: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred but we are open to providing training onsite to motivated candidates. Previous experience working as an ophthalmic technician is highly desirable. Proficient in performing diagnostic tests and using ophthalmic equipment. Strong understanding of ocular anatomy, diseases, and treatment protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited ophthalmic technician program if strongly desired. College degree is highly desired, but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to evolving clinic needs.
