The Player Experience Coordinator manages and enhances players' experiences on and off the field, alleviating unnecessary pressures. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional dedicated to optimizing the player experience. This role fosters a positive team culture, ensures a supportive and respectful environment, and promotes player well-being, personal growth, and successful team integration. As a key liaison between players, coaching staff, and club management, the Player Experience Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing the necessary support to ensure players perform at their best while maintaining a fulfilling experience beyond the game.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Act as a primary point of contact for players' non-soccer-related needs, including personal, social, and
professional concerns.
Serve as a communication channel between players and management, ensuring that players'concerns, feedback, and suggestions are communicated to the appropriate parties.
Assist with the collection of player feedback to identify potential improvements.Coordinate with medical, mental health, and performance teams to ensure players have access to thecare and support they need.
Provide players with resources to help them manage the challenges of a professional soccer career,including relocation assistance, housing, family support, and language services (if applicable).
Manage player CBA relocation expenses, including car shipments, gas reimbursements, housing,flights, and more.
Coordinating domestic and international travel and accommodations for incoming players and theirfamilies as needed.
Assisting with drop-off and pick-up of club-provided vehicles.Serving as a liaison between the club, players, and rental property managers.Manage player housing arrangements, key distributions, utility payments, and maintenancerequests.
Providing new player transportation from airports, housing, and team-related appointmentsAssisting international players with United States acclimation, including establishing banking, obtainingsocial security numbers, mobile phone service, and immigration visas.
Assisting players with team onboarding process and integration into the city and team culture andenvironment.
Acting as a liaison between the club's front office and the team to coordinate player appearancerequests.
Support PR and players in managing their media obligationsAssist as a liaison between players and team chaplain for game-day services and training coordination.Coordinate player achievement celebrations at home matches and organize gifts.Manage player and staff birthday celebrations.Oversee player suite and set up on match daysProvide operational support for team training and game day experience as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required2-3 years of experience in a player-focused role in professional sports, preferably within soccer or arelated field.
Experience working with athletes or teams in a support, operations, or player welfare capacity ispreferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain positiverelationships with players, coaches, and staff.
Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.Understanding of the unique demands and challenges faced by professional athletes, particularlysoccer players.
