Position Information:
- Associates Degree in Child Development or other related field, OR High school diploma or equivalent with Child Development Associate (CDA).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a formal childcare setting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of customers and coworkers.
- Some knowledge of preparing/maintaining documents, records with a systematic approach.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, annual TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months.
- Must be able to walk, and stand for extended time periods; ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and be able to twist, turn, bend and stoop.

Responsibilities:
- Support all facets of childcare center operations, curriculum, staff development and parenting needs.
- Serve professionally in the capacity of Campus Director when Director is absent.
- Supervising, facilitating and monitoring staff schedules.
- Notify the Head Start Central Office of significant events in the absence of the Center Director, such as child and staff accidents, communicable diseases, parent complaints/concerns, child abuse/neglect.
- Know protocol for opening and closing the center as required.
- Assist the Campus Director with preparing for and conducting center staff meetings and center training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and training workshops.
- Must have understanding of company personnel policies and the ability to apply in the workplace.
- Be knowledgeable of procedures regarding emergency situations, first aid, CPR, BBP and disaster drills.
- Compile, maintain, and process records and paperwork accurately and efficiently for children and staff.
- Be knowledgeable of all regulatory standards such as Head Start Performance and Minimum Standards.
- Be aware of child/staff ratios and be ready to act as a substitute in whatever capacity may be needed to maintain compliance at the center.
- Train, monitor, and coach to ensure adherence to Texas Child Care Licensing, Head Start Performance Standards, and CCA Heath and Safety standards.
- Float to various campuses in the absence of the Campus Directors.
- Support monitoring.
- Other related duties as assigned.
