What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Child and Adult Care Food Program Specialist position at Child Care Council, Inc.?
Job Summary:
To be a source of training, support, and resource to home-based child care and adult care food programs, providers participating in CACFP through Child Care Council, Inc. Must meet or exceed all CACFP regulations and Child Care Council, Inc. requirements of a CACFP Specialist. Excellent customer service is our highest priority.
Responsibilities:
(1) Conduct Home Visits to child care programs in Wayne, Monroe, and surrounding counties that participate in the CACFP food program.
(2) Home visits are conducted to ensure compliance with CACFP record keeping requirements, nutrition education and support, and becoming a professional resource to home-based child care programs.
(3) In addition, this position requires job tasks that include, but are not limited to :
a. caseload management; detailed data entry and data maintenance.
b. maintain the integrity of CACFP required documentation.
c. conduct nutrition-based training to child care providers approximately 6 evenings or Saturday mornings per year.
d. and the detailed processing of menu and attendance records that demands the highest level of accuracy and effective time management.
Competencies
o Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, an associate’s degree is acceptable with related experience. Education and related experience can be in Nutrition, Early Childhood, Child Care, Social Work, Human Services, Home Visiting, Psychology, etc.
o Ideal candidate will demonstrate high quality customer service skills
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
o Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative,
o Exceptional but flexible time management skills,
o Comfortable meeting and working with new people.
o Must have a reliable vehicle available daily and maintain a clean driving record.
o Must be willing and able to travel throughout Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, and surrounding counties including urban, suburban, and rural neighborhoods, in all types of weather.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- The ability to sit for long periods.
- The ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to handle all telephone calls for the agency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00 per year
