Children's Health Foundation is seeking a Development Officer
• Full-time. Office Hours are Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• This position requires attendance at some weekend and evening meetings and events
• In-state travel
Overview:
Children’s Health Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization in Oklahoma raising funds to improve the health of children through its support of research, education, and care.
The Development Officer (DO) will work closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and Executive Director (ED) to identify and implement strategies for expanding philanthropic growth for Children’s Health Foundation. This position is pivotal in cultivating and stewarding meaningful relationships with local partners, major donors, and young professionals. The Development Officer will be responsible for building and sustaining impactful partnerships, leading the Children’s Health Foundation Innovative Board (iBoard) — a vibrant group of emerging professionals — and managing a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Local Partnerships & Community Engagement
• Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with local partners, civic groups, and community leaders.
• Develop tailored engagement opportunities that align with partner values and the Foundation’s mission.
• Serve as the Foundation’s ambassador in the community to increase visibility and support.
2. Oversight of the Children’s Health Foundation Innovative Board
• Recruit, onboard, and manage members of the Innovative Board, composed of young professionals.
• Provide leadership and guidance for Innovative Board initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts.
• Empower members to be effective advocates, fundraisers, and ambassadors for the Foundation.
• Foster professional development and networking opportunities within the Board.
3. Major Gifts & Donor Stewardship
• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors with the capacity to give $10,000 annually.
• Develop and implement personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Work closely with the Chief Development Officer and Executive Director to align major gift efforts with campaign goals and organizational priorities.
• Track donor engagement using CRM and prepare reports on portfolio performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or community partnerships.
• Proven success in major gift fundraising or business development.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
• Experience working with young professionals or volunteer boards is highly desirable.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with fundraising CRM systems (e.g., DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge) preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary range: $55,000-$65,000
