MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST
We are a well-established children's outpatient mental health practice, serving children and families in the Portland area since 1980. We are looking for a medical billing specialist to join our experienced billing department.
Job Duties May Include but not limited to:
- Verify patient insurance coverage & Mental Health benefit information through online payer tools.
- Claim review and submission to insurance payers.
- Follow up with insurers regarding unpaid or denied claims, exceptions, and exclusions.
- Resolve or correct problems with claims and resubmit to insurers.
- Post insurance payments to patient accounts.
- Communicates effectively with clients over the phone or email to resolve complex account inquires
- Follow HIPAA guidelines for customer information.
- Sets up payment plans for clients requiring assistance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience in medical insurance billing required.
- Knowledge of insurance billing procedures, CPT/ICD-10 codes, collection practices & medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
· Identify strengths and weaknesses through alternative solutions; consider conclusions or multiple approaches to problems.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
