Fleet Maintenance Seasonal

$18.50 per hour

Position Objective

Chisago County is seeking a motivated individual to help with general duties around the Fleet Maintenance shop. Although seasonal, this is a great opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience in parts, auto repair, heavy duty repair, or construction equipment repair.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and organizes parts storage areas as needed.
• Drives County vehicle to pick up parts and supplies.
• Performs general cleaning and organizing around shop areas.
• Assists Fleet Maintenance Technicians as needed.
• Helps shuttle vehicles and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular, reliable attendance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer knowledge of software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to drive class D vehicles.
• Skilled in organization.
• Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Ability to learn through hands on training.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Valid Class D driver’s license.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and/or desire to learn about a vehicle or equipment repair trade.

Class A or B with Air Brake endorsement.

Tools and Equipment Used

Phone, computers, copiers, automobile, power tools, air powered tools, hand tools, computerized diagnostic testing equipment, and shop equipment.

The employee is exposed to electrical shock, works in high precarious places, is required to use safety equipment, and is exposed to chemicals.
