Job Description: Staff Accountant

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Controller

As a staff accountant you will be responsible for a set of facilities financial reporting. Their duties include entering monthly accruals and other monthly journal entries.  The staff accountant will also explain fluctuations in P&L and BS.  The staff accountant will also reconcile all balance sheet accounts for their assigned facilities by working with other departments and details to obtain supporting documentations

• Enter journal entries in QuickBooks including ADP payroll
• Review GL accounts for irregularities and propose adjustments as necessary
• Explain fluctuations in P&L and BS accounts
• Timely complete financials per month end calendar
• Work with the facility manager and maintain relationships to understand the fluctuations and book accruals as needed
• Overseeing and managing AP email inbox
• Interact with employees and all levels of management on accounting related projects and inquiries
• Investigate, locate, and resolve the cause of irregularities. Update system or notify appropriate party of correction.
• Prepare and file annual 1099s and manage vendor documentation (W9s)
• Appropriately reclass fixed assets when they are put in service
• Support audit requests timely and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Must Have:

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in basic accounting functions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Advanced analytical and research skills
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service regarding all accounting issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent clerical, organizational, and follow-up skills
• Strong attention to details with a proactive approach to solving and preventing problems
• Strong computer skills particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
