Christensen Dumpster Rental is a family-owned and -operated dumpster rental company located in Clarkston, MI. We have been in business for over 30 years specializing in dumpster rental.
We are seeking a friendly, upbeat person to answer customer phone calls, email inquiries and, on occasion, in-office visits. Provide information about our dumpster rentals, address questions and concerns, take and process orders, maintain dumpster inventory, invoice customers and process payments.
The hours of this position are flexible - full- or part-time but expected to be Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. This position is seasonal, hours could be reduced or unavailable during November - March depending on weather.
Duties
- Answer customer phone calls, email inquiries and occasional in-office visits, providing information about our dumpster rentals in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Answer customer questions and concerns, ensuring they are given accurate information. Obtain authorization for special, out-of-the-ordinary requests.
- Take customer orders and enter into our scheduling/dispatch system, providing all necessary information to ensure a smooth delivery, swap or removal process.
- Collaborate with dispatch team to ensure timely dispatch of dumpster orders, which are often done with very short-notice.
- Enter and maintain customer information in Quickbooks.
- Maintain daily inventory of all dumpster locations, ensuring accuracy by asking questions when unclear.
- Create invoices, process and enter customer payments on a daily basis.
Requirements
- Must be friendly and helpful.
- Honesty and reliability are extremely important.
- Must be organized, pay attention to details, and be a good note-taker to ensure nothing is missed or forgotten.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively while maintaining a pleasant attitude and patience.
- Excellent written communication, including acceptable grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to type efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and handle talking and texting with customers, dispatcher and drivers. Our office is extremely busy at times and extremely slow at times.
- Familiarity of approximate location and distance to communities in and around Oakland County and Genesee County.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop is a plus.
- Light cleaning duties (empty trash, dust, vacuum, clean bathroom, sweep and mop, etc) and other duties or special projects if time permits.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
