What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Volunteer/CIT Coordinator position at Christian Academy of Knoxville?
The Volunteer Coordinator oversees the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers from the Christian Academy of Knoxville’s high school community for the summer camp program. This position works closely with the capstone coordinator and aligns volunteer activities with the goals of high school capstone projects. The coordinator ensures that volunteers are equipped to contribute to a Christ-centered, engaging, and enriching camp environment for all participants.
Requirements:- Partner with the capstone coordinator and CAK’s high school program to recruit student volunteers through the capstone project framework.
- Communicate the camp’s mission, expectations, and opportunities to all volunteers.
- Organize orientation sessions and provide hands-on training to prepare volunteers for their specific roles.
- Equip student volunteers to assist with or lead camp activities, including Bible lessons, games, crafts, and special events.
- Foster leadership skills in volunteers by encouraging ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
- Assign volunteers to roles that match their skills, interests, and capstone project requirements.
- Provide on-site supervision, mentorship, and guidance to volunteers throughout the camp.
- Address questions, concerns, or challenges promptly and in alignment with CAK’s Christ-centered values.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, hours, and contributions to capstone projects.
- Provide regular updates to the capstone coordinator and other stakeholders about volunteer progress and achievements.
- Model Christ-centered values in all interactions with volunteers, campers, and staff.
- Encourage volunteers in their spiritual growth by participating in prayer, devotions, and faith-based discussions.
- A love for the Lord, support the mission of CAK and possess a sincere desire to serve all those associated with CAK.
