Christianbook, the leading mail order retailer of Christian products, has seasonal full and part time openings in our busy customer service department.

After a period of paid, onsite training in Peabody, Massachusetts, you have the opportunity to work remotely**. This position pays $17.50 per hour. There is an employee discount up to 40%.

Attendance for every day of our paid training is required.

**Remote work is only available for residents of MA, NH, or ME

Requirements include strong communication and spelling skills, typing skills (minimum 30 words per minute), basic PC skills, and experience using the internet.

Working from Home Requirements:

  • Reliable high-speed internet of at least 25Mbps (hard wired ethernet connection required)
  • Private, quiet, and distraction free workspace or room
  • Computer and Monitor will be supplied by Christianbook during our on-site training

Christianbook’s Customer Service Representatives help our customers the same way. We’ve found that many applicants haven’t worked as a Customer Service Representative in a contact center before. Please read the job description below so that you know what the position you’re applying for is like.

What does the job look like? As a remote customer service representative for Christianbook, you’ll be sitting at your workspace, wearing a headset, with a laptop in front of you for your entire shift. You’ll be talking with customers as you enter their information on your computer so you’ll need to be able to type and talk with your customer at the same time. Our Customer Service Representatives primarily process orders for our customers, but they’re also responsible for handling product inquiries, catalog requests, general customer service calls and web inquiries.

Do you use the internet? Being familiar with the web and online shopping is an important part of customer service at Christianbook. With over 500,000 products many customers call with questions or problems and we’re here to help them!

We expect all of our customer service representatives to have a friendly and helpful attitude—at all times. We confirm this with regular call quality monitoring.

We work when our customers shop. Our hours are 8am-11pm Monday through Friday, and 9am-8pm Saturday. Many of our shifts include Saturdays, and we do have a number of hiring needs in the late morning, afternoon, and early evening.

We expect you to be on time to help our customers. As a member of a team, your time management affects your co-workers.

There are a number of challenging goals to meet. We have high standards for our customer service representatives and you’ll have a number of goals to meet; including call quality, availability, and average call length. Upselling is required and an important part of this position.

Although being a Customer Service Representative is hard work, it is also very rewarding work. If you enjoy working with people and helping customers, then this may be the job for you! As a customer service representative, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with people from all over the world. There is a paid week long training class where we will teach you how to process orders and handle customer inquiries.

Competitive pay – We have a starting hourly pay rate of $17.50!
