Goal

Qualifications
- Has experience in theatrical lighting design
- Holds degree or certificate in related field, such as theater arts, theater education, lighting design or equivalent professional experience; preferred, but not required
- Has strong understanding of color theory, stage composition, and storytelling through lighting
- Has keen eye for detail to ensure flawless execution of lighting effects.
- Has proficiency in selection, application, and operation of theatrical lighting equipment, including analog and digital lighting consoles, as well as various lighting fixtures and accessories
- Must be able to troubleshoot technical issues quickly under pressure
- Has physical ability to use a lift and/or climb ladder to adjust lighting fixtures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with director, production team, performers, and stage crew
- Has understanding of and uses best practices for safety and maintenance of lighting equipment
SALARY: $24/hour
Responsibilities
- Design and operate lighting systems for musical theater productions
- Collaborate with the director and production team to create lighting designs that align with the artistic vision of shows
- Assess equipment needs for major productions, accounting for resources already available and outlining items needing to be reasonably acquired
- Oversee the setting and striking of all lighting equipment for the production, including returning it to its previous state when a show run is completed (if required)
- Assist in the installation and return of rental lighting equipment.
- Manage and maintain lighting equipment during production run
- Program and operate lighting consoles, ensuring seamless execution during performances
- Create cue sheets and/or mark cues as needed
- Train and supervise lighting crew composed of staff and/or students, as needed
- Adapt and adjust lighting cues in response to director and production team feedback
- Perform pre-show lighting checks and troubleshoot any technical issues
- Ensure safety measures are in order and maintained for lighting systems and operations
