Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for technical and production support, process and product development, and optimization of aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems, applicable to NPI and repair. The Engineer will focus on the airflow process, including production support, continuous improvement, and new product development. They will lead moderate-scope project teams to produce new designs, repairs, and processes, utilizing Lean tools and methodologies to positively impact business metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure flawless production and perfect part quality.
Collect and analyze data for quality and productivity improvements.
Design and implement tooling, training, production support, and process maturity. Identify, develop, and implement tooling/equipment improvements.
Apply CI and Lean tools and methodologies to continuously improve processes.
Lead project teams working on new designs, repairs, and process enhancements.
Utilize project management skills to drive successful outcomes within technical, budgetary, and schedule requirements.
Engage with the Chromalloy Engineering team to develop new parts, repairs, and cutting-edge technologies.
Implement innovative methods that positively impact business metrics.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
3 years of experience as an Engineer in manufacturing, preferably in aerospace.
Mechanically inclined; experience working with equipment fixturing, hand tools, etc.
Experience working with and analyzing large data sets; Power BI preferred.
Experience with Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment and a track record of delivering results.
Knowledge of FAA Guidelines for PMA and RS-DER Requirements is a plus.
