JOB SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager will oversee and direct activities of the purchasing department.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop the required components to build new CMC equipment and support CMC’s spare parts business including commercial, machined, and fabricated parts.
- Prepares and presents market conditions and cost reports
- Prepares and processes purchase order and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Manages vendor base and work with engineering to reduce costs through commercial and design improvements.
- Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Develops new suppliers as required to support CMC’s growing business.
- Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems in compliance with CMC’s ISO Certification process.
- Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedule of the department
- Manages a MRO/Commercial component Buyer
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management or related field or extensive experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment
Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills
2-5 years prior experience in Purchasing Manager position
Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and other technical documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Acumatica knowledge a plus.
