FUNCTION
Join our dynamic marketing team at Churchill Downs as a Marketing Advertising & Communications Seasonal. In this role, you will work closely with our marketing managers to assist with executing advertising and lifestyle communications strategies for the Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Week brands. You will play a pivotal role in executing promotional campaigns to national media. This position is ideal for candidates looking to enhance their skills in advertising and communication.
This is not a remote position.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the marketing manager on planning, execution, and recap of Derby Week and Spring meet advertising campaigns in partnership with the agency of record.
- Assist in the ideation and development of lifestyle PR campaigns and content that cater to consumer insights and market trends.
- Assist with lifestyle communications and PR plan execution for exposure of the Kentucky Derby Week and Churchill Downs events.
- Collaborate with the marketing manager on the planning, execution, and recap of influencer campaigns.
- Assist with advertising execution for Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Week brand campaigns.
- Assist in analyzing consumer trends and campaign data to turn insights into action.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging and brand identity across all communication channels.
- Implement sponsorship, community, and marketing initiatives as directed.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and managing inventory of marketing materials.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Most of this work is performed in a business office setting within a Sports and Entertainment facility. There will be times when working outside is required. Some areas of the facility may be noisy and subject to changing weather conditions. Performing light physical work required to set up events. Extensive walking is typically required
Must be able to see, hear, and speak. Long periods of time will be spent working at the computer, reaching, using fingers, interacting with co-workers, managers, and vendors. Must be detail oriented, calm, and remain focused in a very fast-paced and stressful environment.
