What You’ll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and top-ranked research to corporate, government, institutional and retail clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally. CIBC Capital Markets consists of three lines of business; Global Markets, Global Investment Banking and Corporate Banking.
The incumbent will support the distribution of products within Global Markets. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. The incumbent’s mandate is to provide exceptional service and support to clients, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of products within the network.

How You’ll Succeed
Adapt to dynamic conditions with creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to meet the evolving demands of the marketplace.
Play key senior role in managing and growing the desk’s business, including new product development.
Proactively identify, develop, motivate and retain top talent within the group
Keep up with market trends
Initiate and build client relationships, including value-add idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions providing trusted advice
Effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the trading floor
Who You Are
A minimum of 10 years related experience
MBS, CFA or other relevant professional designation preferred
Strong knowledge of products and relevant sales experience with a proven track record of results
Strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets and the financial services industry/regulatory environment
Superior business planning and management skills.
Advanced communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction
Proven ability to develop viable product ideas and to lead product development process from idea generation through to closing.
Excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities.
Strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and exploit trends and opportunities
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary of $250,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
