Position Summary and Purpose: The Director of Purchasing is responsible for developing and executing strategic

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring cost savings, quality improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives to improve purchasing processes, standardize procurement policies, and enhance purchasing systems to streamline operations and ensure compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and support production planning.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing purchasing team, fostering a results-oriented and data-driven culture.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices related to
procurement and supplier management. - Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive process improvements in purchasing, supplier management, and cost control.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or similar certification is preferred.
- 7 years of procurement and supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in procurement analytics, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to drive performance and accountability.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.
