Job Summary: The HR Generalist will play a key role within the Human Resources department of our food manufacturing plant. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will handle a variety of HR functions, focusing on moderate tasks. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of HR activities, supporting the HR Manager, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Collaborate with department managers to understand hiring needs and identify qualified candidates.
- Manage the onboarding process, including new hire orientations, completing necessary paperwork, and introducing employees to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all new hires complete the required training and are integrated effectively into the team.
- Report on recruitment progress and issues to HR Manager.
Agency Communication:
- Report tardies, absences, behavioral problems, no call-no shows, and terminations to the staffing agency.
- Provide weekly staffing needs to the agency, ensuring proper headcount is maintained.
- Submit weekly hours for all agency team members to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Assist in managing time-off requests for agency team members.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the staffing agency, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Keep the HR Manager informed of all communications and decisions involving the staffing agency.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues.
- Issue and manage company resources such as ID badges, access badges, radios, lockers, and other equipment. Conduct scheduled audits of all issued company property to ensure proper usage and return of items.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including verifying timecards, resolving discrepancies, and managing employee attendance records.
Training and Development:
- Assist in the coordination of training sessions and workshops for employees on topics such as safety, HR topics, and professional development.
- Assist the HR Manager in identifying training needs and developing training programs.
- Support the administration of performance management processes.
HR Administration and Reporting:
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports (e.g., turnover rates, absenteeism, employee engagement metrics) and provide insights to HR Manager.
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to support business goals.
Other Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in HR projects and initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Support management with organizational development strategies and workforce planning.
- Handle any other HR-related tasks as required by the HR Manager.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ATS systems.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working in an office environment with occasional warehouse exposure as needed.
Other Duties:
- Follow food safety and quality protocols.
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this role is:
20 - 24 USD per hour(Fort Worth, TX)
